In Spain females and males are usually treated the same and foreign women are accepted in the business community.although in the UAE its considered disrespectful for men to gaze at women, it is considered okay in spain but females should still be cautious and be aware of eye contact. Returning a male’s gaze may be misunderstood as flirting or showing interest.

Females eating alone in restaurants at night is normal in the UAE but they should be careful when they do it in Spain because for Spanish people eating alone is just an excuse for socializing although it is acceptable to eat alone at lunch.

When it comes to business it’s okay for a businesswoman to invite a businessman to dinner but just like in the UAE it is not easy for women to pay for a man’s meal, because men are always expected to pay so if the woman wants to pay she should tell the waiter in advance.
