Tips to do Business in Spain:

  • Greetings

 

Shaking hand is the best way to greet other partners in the meeting. But in UAE, Emirati Women can't shake hand with a man. So it's better to inform them before the meeting, to avoid embarrassment.

  • Business meetings 

Spaniards like to know more about your background and family life in order to trust you and your products, so be prepared to answer any question they ask.

  • Business meals 

Mealtime in Spain is for relaxing and enjoying them self, not for a business meeting and deals. The deal is done in the office after the successful deal they will celebrate at the restaurant. However, they are usually eating pork which is Haram in our religion, so we should inform them. 

  • Conversation 

   The Spanish are great conversationalists and expect the presentations to be long and don’t frustrate.

 

   If you are a female expect their complementation on your look. And replay the complementation or thanks them.

 

   In general, Spaniards don’t speak English, but they have stuff how are a good English speaker. And if you want to sell to the Spanish try to speak Spanish.

Professional offices usually open from 10 to 2, then from 4 to 7, and more common for businesses to stay open from 9 to 4

You should be on time and the Spanish partner will be on time, even though they won't be stressed about punctuality.

    The dress is important for the meeting, to make a good impression you should look fashionable and smart.

 

    The man should wear linen suits and white cotton shirts with silk ties.

 

    The woman should wear well-cut suits of high-quality fabric.
